René Murat Auberjonois (New York, 1 giugno 1940) è un attore statunitense. È conosciuto soprattutto per aver interpretato i personaggi di Clayton Endicott III nello show televisivo Benson (anni ottanta) e di Odo nella serie televisiva di fantascienza Star Trek - Deep Space Nine.
Ha anche interpretato Padre John Patrick nella versione cinematografica di M*A*S*H, il cuoco Louis in The Little Mermaid, il vampiro "buono" Modoc in La brillante carriera di un giovane vampiro (1987), il colonnello West in Star Trek VI: Rotta verso l'ignoto, il gangster Tony in Scuola di polizia 5, il reverendo Oliver in The Patriot.
Attualmente interpreta il ruolo dell’avvocato Paul Lewinston nella serie televisiva americana Boston Legal.
La madre di Renè Auberjonois era la principessa Laure Louise Murat (1913-1986), il cui trisnonno paterno era Gioacchino Murat, re di Napoli e sua moglie Carolina Bonaparte, sorella dell'imperatore Napoleone Bonaparte. Suo padre, Fernand Auberjonois (1910-2004) fu un giornalista e suo nonno, Renè Auberjonois, fu un pittore post-impressionista svizzero.
Uno dei contatti più influenti avuto da Auberjonois durante il periodo in cui si trasferì negli Stati Uniti fu John Houseman, che gli diede il suo primo lavoro come apprendista a teatro a 16 anni. Auberjonois ha dichiarato in un'intervista 1993 che Houseman era la persona che ha più influenzato la sua carriera.
Auberjonois ha sposato il 19 ottobre 1963 Judith Mihalyi, dalla quale ha avuto due figlie, Tessa e Remy.
Nel 1984 ha ottenuto una nomination agli Emmy Award come miglior attore non protagonista in una comedy series per Benson.
Nel 2001 ha ottenuto una nomination agli Emmy Award come miglior attore ospite in una serie drammatica per The Practice.
Nel 2006 ha ottenuto una nomination per una perfetta performance in una comedy series, Boston Legal.
